Lakeshore RV Park Campground Site Layout
Location Description: Back in the 1950's when the Mackinac Bridge was being built, the builders of the bridge needed space on the north side to house the iron workers. Land was bought on Pte. LaBarbe Road in St. Ignace and trailers were brought in, creating a small "trailer park". In 1957 after the bridge was completed, the trailer park was sold. some pre-fabricated motel units were brought in and some camp sites were created to help bring in added revenue. Thus, it was called "Lakeshore Trailer Park And Motel". (See our gallery for some neat old photos).,In 1987, our mother Kay and father, retired Lt Cmd Robert F. Steward, Michigan State Police, bought the campground. By this time, the old trailers were gone and there was already a new bath house. Our parents then went about updating the grounds, added more sites, built a new office and removed the old motel units.,Lakeshore RV Park Campground is a full service private RV Park. We offer 20-30-50 amp electrical service, and water and sewer at all RV sites. We even accept tenters. We are close to all the major attractions and only minutes from downtown St. Ignace.
